Fabric fifth: Radically rethinking retrofit.

Can we afford the embodied carbon of retrofitting millions of homes? With the decarbonisation of the grid is retrofit even necessary to reach net zero? For those in fuel poverty, for whom leaky homes are unaffordable and unhealthy, can we afford not to retrofit? This panel challenges the status quo and digs into issues of just transition, embodied carbon and electrification to shape new priorities for how we deal with the UK’s inefficient housing stock.
