This session shares the research, evidence and campaign to support the need for healthy places and discusses why the Healthy Homes Pledge is needed now more than ever. Daniel Black will be sharing initiatives and findings from the five year TRUUD research programme that aims to Tackle Root Causes Upstream of Unhealthy Urban Development. Julia Thrift from the TCPA will explain how organisations across the built environment sector are pledging their support for healthy homes and demanding to see clear political commitment to ensure that all new homes are healthy and secure, and that more genuinely affordable homes are built. The session will also feature examples from organisations who are implementing schemes that are seeking to embed the Healthy Homes principles. At the beginning of May, the Healthy Homes Pledge was launched in a bid to protect millions of people from harmful housing conditions.
